Stout: He's done!

Everybody, thank Jeff Morice for setting up this photo shoot as I was tucking myself into bed, not even pretending to be helping. Look at the lighting! Ah! And also look at the beautiful post production that he did afterward, adding irises and everything!

Very pleased with him! I'm excited for the final photo shoot, I'm gonna put him on a red background, oooo it's gonna be pretty. Also feeling really inspired to make an entire circus :-) We'll see what comes of it, I have so many projects I'm inspired to make right now, haha.

I'll post the photo that comes before this, where you see what is under his wonderful blue boots. I'm just so excited to show you all how done he is!

Nativity

This was my Christmas Present for my mom. Many, many years ago I made another nativity set for her, I think I was... 8. I thought it was time for an upgrade. Maybe I'll make the stable next year.

Stout: The first day of painting, and some feet.

The original character. My puppet is based on the bottle label, but thanks to the box I know to give him a belt.

Movin' right along! The paint is nearly complete, with only some minor details that need adding. Something I have been running into with this puppet is the flaking of the latex whenever I bend his joints. His skin is now reenforced with a layer of hot glue, and yes, surprisingly that is working.

Next up: the feet. Making feet is a bit of a new process for me, but I think these particular feet will turn out very well. The nut at the center of the foot is so I can screw him down the floor and remove the screw when his foot is lifted. It is held there by epoxy putty, which is much stronger than my usual materials, and should hold up to all of my crazy poses.

Kerbal Space Program

AFTER!

This is the first of the Christmas presents that I am able to post. The others are on a flashdrive being mailed to me shortly. I know you're excited, but you'll just have to wait.

Anyway, for Christmas I gave my boyfriend a game called Kerbal Space Program (http://store.steampowered.com/app/220200/) and I made him a little Kerbal keychain to go with it. He was delighted.

But the best part is he did not stop being delighted when I told him to set up the photoshoot, take all the pictures and make them pretty! In fact, he got MORE excited, and went on to do a beautiful job making the photos look clean and adding the vastness of space for a background. I think I'll keep him. :-)

For the final display I want to put the three images next to each other, but I can't do that with Wordpress, so wait til I put them all together in Photoshop.
