Leprechaun: Day 3

Hi, I'm back. How was everybody's weekend? I hear a certain family got to go on a hay ride, and a certain father won all kinds of prizes for pumpkin carving. I myself made and end table.

Anyway, Monday, back to work. Today there was not much that got done because after the basic body was finished there was not much to do except wait for the latex on his fingers to dry. But dry it finally did, and tomorrow I get back to the fun stuff!

Leprechaun: Day 2

Today I added hair and a hat, although I just realized I forgot the eybrows so I'm going to go do that now.

Leprechaun: Day One

Since doing the Drop Kick Puppet I have come up with the idea of taking a photo of each puppet at the end of a full day of work and posting it. This allows everybody to see my process and progress, and gets me in a better posting habit. Plus a better documentation habit. So good habits all round.

The next puppet I am working on is from this label:

David Terrill's original label
Ain't he cute? And such a troublesome little guy to bring into the third dimension. After a full day's designing and redesigning, this is what I have got so far:

You'll note that I have opened his eyes. Since he's going to be in multiple poses, I thought it would be more versatile if his eyes were open. In any shots where I want his eyes closed, I can make little paper eyelids, no problem.

Check in tomorrow to see his hat!

Drop Kick Ale

David Terrill's original label
My puppet of that character. I call him Murphy.

A little compositing
Thank you to my dear friend Elizabeth for the beautiful photos!

Back in June, Weston Brewing Company asked if I would make puppets out of a few of their mascots. The original labels had been designed by my (now former) professor, David Terrill, who is tremendously talented and a wonderful teacher to boot.

I believe these puppets are going to be used in posters, so these photos are just to show you how he looks. I personally am very pleased. Let's hope Weston Brewing company is as well...
