Thesis: Anya's Crown

Pay no attention to the woman behind the curtain of hair. There are more important things to be looking at.
SUCH AS, the beautiful princess Anya! Or Anyastasia, as I like to call her.

 What a lovely lacy veil

OH NO! SHE'S BALD. I'm making her another wig so she doesn't have to wear the crown all the time.

The head is made of painted Sculpey. The wig is made by wrapping the head in muslin and setting it with glue, then hot gluing the yarn to it. Usually for my dolls I glue the hair directly to the head, but it is important that the hair comes off the fairytale characters. Some of them have more than one hair-do (like Anyastasia) and some of them have more than one head! (Just wait.)

I made the crown out of some GIANT fashion earrings I found at the local beauty store. I'm very pleased with how it came out. Some snipping and gluing later, and the crown looks very fancy indeed.

Stay tuned for more faces.

Thesis: Happy Reunion!

OH this is the worst picture of them all. Good thing I'll be taking more later of all of the heads. Obviously this is Anya and her Papa, reunited after the long and terrible trials I, the Author of their story, have put them through. Of course, they will get hands and feet, but not until I finish everybody else's faces and hair.

The Harvest Poster

We were given the assignment to make a poster for the Internship fair at the end of the month. And then we remembered that we could not hang the posters because we only wanted people interested in having an intern to show up and it made more sense to just send emails.
But I, like a good little girl, already had the thing more than half done when I was told instead of making a poster I could do whatever I wanted. So I decided to finish it.
Done in the style of rubberband cartoon placard, I made did all the text by hand, which I am very proud of. All color added in Photoshop.
